The Continuing Adventures of Desert Dave

Night Moves.
Back on the east coast, I’m told, the freight trains move at night because the passenger and commuter trains run during the day. Out here in the west, there aren’t so many passenger trains and the freights run day and night. Here in the pass above Bakersfield, two eastbound freight trains wait for a west-bounder to clear the track ahead.

With apologies to Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett, I won’t make a tacky reference to the song “Fly Me to the Moon”. Then again, I guess I just did!

This 757 looks like it leaving the atmosphere for outer space, in fact it’s on what’s called the “profile” approach for a landing at LAX.
